The Creative Cosmic Force

As many of you know, I recently went back to school to deepen my understanding of teaching. It’s been eye-opening to see how many layers there are to this path—it’s both a little overwhelming and incredibly inspiring. As I move through this process, I keep coming back to a beautiful concept from yoga philosophy: the three aspects of the Creative Cosmic Force: icchā śakti (the power of will), jńāna śakti (the power of knowledge), and kriyā śakti (the power of action). These three work together to bring anything into being, whether we’re talking about the vastness of the universe or the tiniest personal transformation.

Lately, kriyā śakti, the power of action, is the one speaking to me the most. Without action, will is just dreaming, and knowledge becomes mental gymnastics. At the same time, action without intention or understanding can turn into chaos. When all three come together—that’s when real, meaningful creation happens.

This week in our yoga practice, we’ll be exploring the power of action. We’ll work with alignment as a tool to shape the poses with care and attention, and most importantly, we’ll tune in to what that feels like in our own bodies. How does it shift our experience when we’re fully engaged in the doing?

I look forward to seeing you in class
