pratyabhijñā, re-cognize

"Everything is already contained within us." This statement rubbed me the wrong way because that was not my experience. If this was true, why was it not  accessible to me. Observing that friction closely helped me realize that I was expecting things to appear out of thin air. But nothing actually happens in this way. There are many things that have to occur to bring something into being.

Yes, everything is contained within us but it is like a tree contained in a seed. I was not happy about this at the time because I wanted the magic trick. At some point, I realized that I had to give myself fully to the process of bringing into life whatever it is I wanted to experience. In this process, patience and contentment have proven to be strong allies.

I invite you this week to discover what experience you want to unfold through your yoga practice. Then immerse yourself fully in the process.

I look forward to seeing you in class.

Breathe easy,

Blessings
