Connecting you to your genuinely strong, effervescent, and zestful Self
Citta, The Heart-Mind
11/02/25
This week we move into a different layer of the self — citta. This Sanskrit word is often translated as “mind,” yet its meaning extends far beyond that. In much of the world, we have grown accustomed to separating thoughts from emotions — as if the mind and the heart were two different territories. But in yoga philosophy, citta embraces both. Thoughts and emotions are understood as different vibrations within the same field of awareness called citta: thoughts are vibrations with a stronger linguistic and logical component, while emotions are vibrations with greater affective charge.
Yoga Classes
The physical practice of yoga helps us to experience our inherent strength, flexibility, and sense of being through the body and ultimately enables us to be more at ease and at peace with ourselves.
The classes we offer are appropriate for a wide range of mindsets and abilities.
Meditation
A meditation practice helps us to recognize and acknowledge our mental patterns in a non judgmental way. This recognition will train your mind to enjoy aligning itself with the focus of your meditation practice. The result is a strong and solid friendship between you and your mind.
You can participate in any of our meditation classes.
Retreats
The practice of going on retreat is ancient. It is beneficial to our well being to move away for some time from our familiar routine and spend this time not just in solitude but also with our focus on the more expanded aspects of ourselves. It is a healing and rejuvenating practice for the heart, mind, and body.
The retreats that we offer whether online or at a physical location are designed to help you recognize and connect you to a part of you that is so intimately you that it is very easy to take for granted in the middle of our daily life.
